Peter Evans was a close friend and one of several inspirations for Project NAGA®. Before his passing in 2017, Evans' dying wish was to see the problems of veterans dying alone and their remains going unclaimed solved. In the final days of 2022, the Project NAGA team made a trip to all three national cemeteries in Pennsylvania over three days to continue to honor Evans' wish. They began the journey with a bouquet, which they carried to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies and paid their respects at the graves of unclaimed veterans. They then visited the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where they honored additional unclaimed veterans with the same bouquet. On New Year's Eve, the team ended their trip at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, where they finally laid the bouquet at Evans' grave.
